Mollema extended contract until 2014
The management of the Rabobank Cycling Teams has reached an agreement with Bauke Mollema about remaining with the team for longer. The contract that run until the end of this season have been broken up and extended until the end of December 2014.
Bauke is delighted his contract is extended. “I feel totally at home here at Rabobank and am also really pleased that the mutual confidence is so great that we are going on together for at least another three years.” Technical director Erik Breukink: “A number of years ago we consciously chose to train and develop Dutch talent. Bauke have already demonstrated several times that he can stay close to the best in the world. Bauke has already come fourth in one large race. In this way he have shown that the podium is in his reach. We intend to achieve this in the coming years.”
Bauke Mollema has been riding out for the Rabobank team since 2007. In the first year, he achieved victories with the Rabo Continental Team in events such as the Circuito Montañes and the Tour de l’Avenir. Bauke transferred to the Rabobank ProTeam in 2008, and was extremely successful in 2011. Because of his illness, his début in the Tour more or less fell through, but he was in top form in the Vuelta, coming in fourth in the final classification and winning the points jersey. In the autumn he came second in the Giro dell’Emilia.
