Jamis/Sutter Home Pro Cycling Team signs Peter van Dijk

Northvale, NJ (September 27, 2011) -- Wrapping up a solid season with victories and podiums at stage races such as the Tour of Elk Grove and major one-day events, the Jamis/Sutter Home Pro Cycling Team is ready to ride for 2012. Directeur Sportif Sebastian Alexandre announced that the core of the squad has re-signed for next season.

Alexandre is adding new talent to the Jamis/Sutter Home line-up as well. Peter Van Dijk, who has been racing in Spain with Azysa-Conor WRC, has signed with Jamis/Sutter Home for the 2012 season. "Peter is a very talented climber and a great addition to our squad," said Alexandre. "With hilly races like the SRAM Tour of the Gila, the Amgen Tour of California, and the Tour of Utah on our calendar, we expect he will deliver outstanding results."

Van Dijk, who grew up outside of Amsterdam and currently trains in Pamplona, Spain, will make his US pro debut with Jamis/Sutter Home. In 2011, Van Dijk won Spain's popular Volta Ciclista ao Ribeiro and the Clásica Ciudad de Torredonjimeno, part of the prestigious Copa España series of one-day races. He also won stages in the Tour du Piémont Pyréneén in France and the Memorial Luis Muñoz Abiñanigo.
