Breakage aka James Boyle has never been one to be pigeonholed. Moving effortlessly through styles from drum & bass to dubstep, Breakage has proved himself to be one of the most versatile operators in either scene to date.
Never afraid to make an impact, he burst onto the d&b scene back in 2000, announcing his arrival with a raucous remix of a hardcore classic, Nasty Habitʼs ʻHere Come the Drumsʼon Reinforced. Further releases came on labels including Critical & Scientific Wax, before his debut album release in 2006 ʻThis To Shall Passʼ gained wide spread critical acclaim and included some slower tempo material, hinting at what was to come. 2007 saw James signing to Shy FX’s mighty Digital Soundboy label and release ‘Clarendon b/w Shroud.
His second album Foundations was released in 2009 and featured the singles ‘Run Em Out’ feat Roots Manuva’ and ‘Hard feat Newham Generals and David Rodigan”
With remix & production credits for Massive Attack, Florence & The Machine, David Guetta, Virgin Records, Aswad, Sidney Sampson, and many more all forthcoming, Breakage has laid the foundation. Now he’s ready to blow...
