This film was a complicated music package that involved organising live performances and recordings within the film from the Jools Holland band ft Eddi Reader, American big band James Langton & his Solid Senders, a radio orchestra on set and the Julius Caesar play within the film with excerpts from the original theatre score by Marc Blitzstein. In addition SEG’s Mike McEvoy wrote some original jazz score for the film and we cleared approximately 30 original American masters from the 1930’s, which took some considerable detective work to track down the rights holders.
SEG negotiated and finalised a soundtrack deal with Decca (Universal Records) for the movie.
