SEG Future Talent Tournament in Africa

In this 6-day long tournament 250 young locals showed their talent to scouts of professional football clubs. 10 of the best academies of the region battled each other in a tournament format. Each academy sent the best players of their neighbourhoods, cities and regions, between the age of 17 and 21. Spots were hard to obtain; only the most driven and talented players were able to compete.

After multiple grueling games, the best player of the tournament led his team to victory in the finals. For this achievement he earned the opportunity to go for a trial period at Bayer Leverkusen later this season. The players gained lots of experience and 13 other local talents will be carefully watched by scouts from numerous clubs in the future. With a number of international scouts and local trainers, including national team staff, the players received feedback to grow their game.

As this event was a success, we are looking to possibilities to organise more talent tournaments in the future.
