Arjan Veurink new head coach of the OranjeLeeuwinnen

16 April 2025

Arjan Veurink will take over as head coach of the Dutch women’s national team following the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025. He has signed a contract running through to the 2029 European Championship. The deal was brought to fruition thanks to the dedicated efforts of Leoni Blokhuis, founder and owner of SEG partner FLOWSPORTS.

Veurink, 38, is a seasoned figure in women’s football. During his tenure as head coach of FC Twente (2012–2016), he led the team to four Dutch league titles. As assistant coach to the OranjeLeeuwinnen (2017–2021), he helped secure the European Championship in 2017 and a runner-up finish at the 2019 World Cup. He then moved to England, where as assistant manager of the Lionesses he won the EUROs in 2022 and came second at the 2023 World Cup.

Arjan Veurink said: “It’s an incredible honour and a proud moment for me. This feels like both a natural and prestigious next step in my career in women’s football. For now however, my full focus remains on my role with the Lionesses. I’d love nothing more than to close this chapter with a memorable EUROs campaign. The support from FLOWSPORTS throughout this process has been professional and trustworthy – exactly what you need during such a dynamic period.

Leoni Blokhuis said: “I’ve known Arjan for over twelve years, and we’ve been working closely together for many of them. Arjan and I share a strong bond and are nearly always on the same page. In my line of work, it’s always a privilege to support players and coaches in their careers. But helping someone reach the position of national team coach for their home country – that’s truly the icing on the cake. We at FLOWSPORTS wish Arjan the best of luck in both his current role and the exciting journey ahead as head coach of the OranjeLeeuwinnen.”
