JOHAN CRUYFF ACADEMY STUDENTS VISIT SEG

SEG recently welcomed around thirty students from the Johan Cruyff Academy (part of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences) to its headquarters in Amsterdam. The visit gave the students a valuable behind-the-scenes look at the sports industry.

As part of their studies, the students explore topics such as creating brand value, the importance of authenticity in branding and how to position athletes as marketable brands. They are currently working on an assignment in which they develop a marketing plan aimed at building a strong personal brand around a specific athlete.

The programme provides students with a strong theoretical base, and SEG helped bring that to life with real examples from the sports industry. General Counsel Luc Houten gave the students an inside look at the role of a football agent, while Content & Social Media Manager Wouter Hermans shared SEG’s experience in brand building for top-level athletes, particularly in football. The session aligned perfectly with the curriculum and helped students connect their newly acquired knowledge to tangible, real-life examples.

It was the second time that students from the Johan Cruyff Academy visited SEG and once again, it was seen as a valuable experience by everyone involved, including SEG itself. “It’s great to see how engaged and curious this new generation of students is.” said Luc Houten afterwards. “For SEG, it’s a fantastic opportunity to share knowledge and stay connected with the next generation of professionals.'
